YOUR QUESTIONS

My most frequently asked questions by parents, children and families.
HOW DO I BOOK A MINI PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?

To book a photo session, you can book directly by selecting the BOOK NOW button above. If you have questions before you book you can drop me an email at info@pollyharrisphotography.com

Looking forward to hearing from you!

wHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOOK MY DATES?

Once we have you booked I will be in touch to arrange a call around 1-2 weeks prior to your shoot so I can get to know you and your family and we can discuss location, clothing and what to bring.

Your session fee of £199 will be due after your pre-shoot to secure your booking date.

wHAT HAPPENS AT THE PRE-SHOOT PLANNING?

We arrange this 1-2 weeks prior to your photo session. It takes place over the phone and typically lasts around 20 mins for mini sessions. It’s a great opportunity to meet each other before the shoot and to find out more about your family and children.

We will discuss,

  • The location of your shoot.
  • What to Wear and how to prepare for your session.
  • What to expect at the Photo session

HOW SHOULD WE PREPARE? WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

At our planning session, I will give you some tips to help you prepare for your photo session. This will cover most of the information on how to prepare including clothing tips. We also have lots of time prior to the shoot to connect over the phone or email with any questions you have

HOW LONG WILL THE MINI PHOTO SESSION LAST?

The session will last approximately 45 mins.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE PHOTO SHOOT?

This is a Mini Shoot, so my sessions are much shorter than the typical family session, lasting approx 45 minutes. The idea is to provide a taster of how the full shoot would run. Mini sessions are faster-paced because we have a shorter window of time.

My photo shoots are informal, personalised and fun. It’s about capturing great images of your beautiful family and having lots of fun while we do that. I have a few little games and tricks up my sleeve just to ensure everyone, even the smallest children have an enjoyable experience.

The best images come from children and families enjoying themselves. Making great images is also about teamwork. I will give you a little direction just to ensure we are making the most of the natural light we have and capturing everyone at their best, the rest is about you, having fun and spending time together as a family.

HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE MY IMAGES?

Typically 3-4 weeks for mini sessions. Timing can vary during the busier periods. Once your images are ready I will give you access to a private online gallery that is open for 6 days. This gives you the opportunity to look through your gallery in privacy and decide on your favourites. Any decisions about products should be made at the end of your 6 day period.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD ON THE DAY OF OUR SESSION?

It is likely this could happen! We simply re-schedule. I usually ask that families keep a little flexibility in their diary the week of their shoot, so we have options to re-schedule. The only time I would ask to re-schedule is when it looks like heavy rain. Dull and overcast days are fine, cold days are great for getting all wrapped up, and a little light rain is ok, we can always find shelter.
