FAMILY & CHILDREN PHOTOGRAPHY

I just love working with children and families. The spontaneity, curiosity and sense of adventure of children is enchanting. With families and all their differences and similarities its a privilege and joy to be given the opportunity to photograph this time in your life.

This type of photography is all about creating memories. It’s a snapshot of you at this time in your life. It’s wonderful to be able to look back at your images and remember the way you were at that time.

Sessions take place in a favourite family place such as a park or place you enjoy. The sessions are informal and fun and about capturing your family and children just being yourselves. They last around
2.5-3 hrs.

I will find you a good spot in your location with some great light, I may give you something to do to distract you from the camera, allowing me to capture you very naturally.

Once you have booked your session, we meet up, this gives me the opportunity to get to know you and your family. We will also discuss location, what to wear and what to bring to ensure everyone has a fun experience. Outfit changes are unlimited also.

Sessions are for a max of 5 people. For any additional members, there will be an additional cost. Please find below some additional information. I look forward to meeting you.

where do i photograph?

The cost above covers a 2-2.5 hr shoot in locations within 30 minutes drive of Kirkintilloch. I can suggest some good locations for our outdoor session if you are looking for ideas. If you live further out, please do get in touch and we can discuss.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Polly Harris Photography gift vouchers are available to order at any time of the year. Whether you are looking for a birthday present or something a little different at Christmas time, this is a great gift, that will last a lifetime.

Gift vouchers are priced at £99 for a weekday session or £149 for a weekend session and can be used for Family or Children photography for up to 5 people. If you have extra members in your family attending, there will be an additional cost. Vouchers include three 7×5″ prints. Vouchers are valid for 12 months.

HOW DO I BOOK A PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?

To book a photo session, you can either drop me an email at info@pollyharrisphotography.com or complete the contact form. Please include as much information about what you are looking for and have a think about which type of session you would like to book: Family or Children. Looking forward to hearing from you!

wHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOOK MY DATES?

Once we have your date booked I will arrange a face to face pre-shoot planning session around 1-2 weeks prior to your shoot so I can get to know you and your family and we can discuss location, clothing and any ideas you have for your session. This is one of my favourite parts, meeting your family for the first time.

wHAT HAPPENS AT THE PRE-SHOOT PLANNING?

We arrange this 1-2 weeks prior to your photo session. It takes place in my studio and typically lasts around 40 mins. It’s a great opportunity to meet each other before the shoot and to find out more about your family and children. I’d love to hear about your interests and any ideas you have to make your session unique to your family and children. Creating great images takes time. Something I don’t rush. So it’s important that I take the time to get to know you and your family first.

HOW SHOULD WE PREPARE? WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

At our planning session, I will give you a guide to help you prepare for your photo session. This will cover most of the information on how to prepare including clothing tips. We also have lots of time prior to the shoot to connect over the phone or email with any questions you have

HOW LONG WILL THE PHOTO SESSION LAST?

The session will last approximately 2.5 – 3 hrs. Great images take time to make, and I prefer to not rush. When there are young children, you can take as many breaks as you need.

WHAT IS THE SESSION FEE?

My session fee is £95* on weekdays (Monday – Friday) and £145* at the weekend and bank or school holidays (excludes summer holidays).

This includes,

A face-to-face pre-shoot planning session 1-2 weeks prior so I can get to know your children and family and we can discuss location, clothing and any ideas you have.
A guide to help you prepare for your shoot.
An approx 2.5 – 3 hr informal and fun photo shoot on location (younger children). Duration is approximate, I don’t rush our sessions.
Selection of the best images and individual digital editing of each
Access to a private online gallery for you to enjoy and make your selections. The gallery is available for 6 days.

*The session fee is non-refundable and payable when you book your session. It does not include digital files or prints. Once you have selected your favourite images, you can order from the product options available.

Prices above are based on a family of 4 or 5. For larger family groups there will be an additional cost of £20-£25 per person depending on when the session takes place (up to 3 extra people). For groups of 9 or more please enquire.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE PHOTO SHOOT?

My photo shoots are informal, personalised and fun. It’s about capturing great images of your beautiful family and having lots of fun while we do that. I have a few little games and tricks up my sleeve just to ensure everyone, even the smallest children have an enjoyable experience. The best images come from children and families enjoying themselves. Making great images is also about teamwork. I will give you a little direction just to ensure we are making the most of the natural light we have and capturing everyone at their best, the rest is about you, having fun and spending time together as a family.

HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE MY IMAGES?

Typically 4 weeks. Timing can vary during the busier periods (6 weeks). Once your images are ready I will give you access to a private online gallery that is open for 6 days. This gives you the opportunity to look through your gallery in privacy and decide on your favourites. Any decisions about products should be made at the end of your 6 day period.
